 Akshay Kumar, whose real name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, is a renowned Indian actor who has worked in over 150 films in his career spanning more than three decades. Born on September 9, 1967, in Amritsar, Punjab, Akshay had a humble beginning in life. His father was a government employee, and his mother was a homemaker. Akshay was the youngest of five siblings.



Akshay Kumar completed his schooling from Don Bosco School, Mumbai, and later went on to pursue his higher education from Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Mumbai. He was an average student and had a keen interest in sports, especially martial arts. He was a black belt in Taekwondo and used to teach martial arts to make a living.

In 1987, Akshay Kumar got his first break in the film industry with the film "Aaj." However, the film didn't do well at the box office, and he struggled to find work. He did a few small roles in films like "Khiladi" and "Main Khiladi Tu Anari," but it was his role in the film "Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi" that gave him the much-needed breakthrough. The film was a huge hit, and Akshay's performance was praised by both critics and audiences.

Akshay Kumar became popular in the 1990s for his roles in action films. He was often referred to as the "Khiladi" of Bollywood, owing to the success of the series of films that carried the same name. Akshay's ability to perform stunts and action scenes made him a sought-after actor in the industry. Some of his notable films from this era include "Mohra," "Sabse Bada Khiladi," "Suhaag," "Dil To Pagal Hai," and "Hera Pheri."

In the early 2000s, Akshay Kumar started experimenting with different genres and roles. He starred in films like "Ajnabee," "Dhadkan," "Aankhen," and "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi," which showcased his versatility as an actor. He also starred in the film "Khakee," which was a critical and commercial success.
